DAWN Series

ALMOSA incorporates a modern kitchen with conventional elements from oriental architecture. Conceptually stemming from mountains and landforms, the Dawn series demonstrates a space of Zen and aesthetics in the house. The notion of daybreak beams symbolized the start of ALMOSA and out state of readiness for public inspection.

Imagine a scenario that peaks represent the celestial realm, the gates embody the terrestrial domain, and human inhabit in between. When standing in the cooking zone, users resemble the pivotal connection between the sky and the earth. The Dawn series reinterprets the concept of equilibrium of Chinese architecture by mirroring the tall units on both sides, where the layout contributes to the symmetry of the kitchen.

The gate element and the island

The series adopted the archway of Chinese architecture for the island. Besides, the supporting structure of the wooden counter came from dougong brackets, it distributed the weight evenly to the carcass and the grilles on both sides. In consideration of members with different ages and height in a family, the designer declined the surface height of the extended wooden counter.

EAVES Eaves, Edge profile handles

Inspired from the curve of conventional Chinese eaves, the Eaves came with a small wing with a streamlined curve. With an ergonomic angle design and the precision surface treatment, the Eaves has a gentle and smooth touch. The light reflections of the handle can slightly vary under different lightening conditions. Through the Eaves profile handle, ALMOSA has redefined the novel Oriental style with conciseness and refinement.

GRID GRID

The fringe pattern of Chinese window grilles represents longevity and auspiciousness. The squares at both ends of the handle simplify the fringe elements, which perfectly combined with the warm walnut solid wood and neutralize the cold metallic texture and grip.
